New York-JFK’s Terminal 4 had double reason to celebrate this week – yesterday handling its 19 millionth passenger this year and today opening a new chocolate shop!

In celebration of its 19 millionth annual passenger, T4 operator, JFKIAT, surprised passengers on a Virgin America flight with an assortment of gifts and presented its milestone passenger with a special grand prize package.

The grand prize included a $300 American Express gift card and a $500 Apple gift card, provided by JFKIAT.

Virgin America also provided two Virgin America round trip vouchers for anywhere in the US.

“In just one year, our terminal has seen an increase of more than two million annual passengers; we’ve added new airlines and experienced tremendous growth in our retail and concession programmes,” enthused Gert-Jan de Graaff, president and CEO of JFKIAT.

“JFKIAT is keeping up with the demands of an ever-growing travel industry and exceeding expectations by offering a first-rate experience at one of the most active airport terminals in the world.”

While today marked the opening of the first So Chocolate! outlet in North America.

Opened in collaboration with Paradies Lagardère, is said to pay tribute to a product that remains the most purchased confectionary item in international travel retailing.

And while there is a heavier focus on chocolates, the store’s mix is versatile and includes a wide assortment of candies and sweets that cater to all..
